- Nandi was angered by the cursing of his master Lord Siva by Daksha. So he countercursed as follows:
- He said anyone who supports Daksha and neglects Lord Siva is unintelligent. Because of duality they will be bereft of transcendental knowledge
- He said those people are leading a pretentious householder life and are thus attracted to karma kanda rituals prescribed in the vedas
- He cursed Daksa to have a goat head since he had forgotten his spiritual identity as part and parcel of Krishna and was attached to sex life.
- He cursed Daksa and his followers to remain in repeated birth and death with attachment to fruitive activities
- Cursed them to lose discrimination and perform austerities etc only for maintaining he body and eat without discrimination and not have a spiritual goal.
